SampleScience has released Oberom, a free instrument plugin for Windows and Mac.

Oberom is a sampled version of Oberon by Land of Cockaigne, a VST plugin that is an attempt to imitate the classic analog polysynths. With its thick 2-pole dual filter, it’s sound is reminiscent of the Arp 2600.

Oberom comes with the original 16 sounds and is a must have for producing synthwave, synth-pop and 80s inspired genres of music.

Flintpope has released Vibes, a free virtual rompler instrument that features the sounds of a four octave velocity sensitive Vibraphone.

Spitfire Audio has released LABS, a free sample-based instrument library in VST and AU format. In addition to this release, the company has also released Soft Piano and Strings, two free instrument patches for LABS.

LABS, is a virtual rompler instrument which loads free sample libraries by Spitfire Audio. It is completely free to download for registered Spitfire Audio members (registration is free). The LABS interface is user friendly and offers volume, pan and pitch controls as well as a built in reverb unit.

Along with LABS, Spitfire Audio has released two sample libraries for the rompler. Soft Piano is a mellow, emotional instrument that had its samples recorded at Air-Edel Recording Studios in 2008. And Strings is an ensemble string instrument recorded using vintage microphone at Spitfire Audio’s headquarters.

Minimal Instruments has released Kick-n-Snare, a free rompler instrument for Windows and Mac.

We made this plugin because we think it would be nice if a producer can quickly create kick or snare (or both) track. Often, kick should be by itself in a track due to side chain purpose. Also, you can audition kick or snare sound without changing kit or presets.

Kick-n-Snare offers a supper sound, good for EDM, Dubstep and Bass productions. The rompler is available now for free download via the Minimal Instruments site (free registration is required).
