Native Instruments are giving away their Analog Dreams plug-in for free. Usually priced at $50, this synthesizer VST is a great application for any producer who likes to compose synthwave and lo-fi music.

ANALOG DREAMS combines vintage synth sounds, and adds creative effects to produce original, modern patches. Awaken new ideas with ground-shaking basses; rich, mellow pads; cutting leads; plucked percussive sounds; and quirky effects. Just choose your sound sources, then blend and tweak to create the synth tones of your dreams.

You will need to download Native Access and register a free account to download the synth. Analog Dreams includes 150 sounds,  100 presets and is 3.6 GB in size.

PulseSetter-Sounds have released Metalstorm, a free Kontakt library for trailer composers. The library features 60 Kontakt patches made with Metalstorm samples.

This odd choice is part of our Cybertrash (Freebies) series where we grab public domain and deep web sound sources and transform them into cool sound design instruments. This time its a machine gun (Metalstorm)  that fires 33,000 bullets per second, which was transformed into Braams, Alarms, Plucks, Pads, Impacts and trailer hits. The Kontatk library comes with impacts, alarms, plucks and pads. On top of that, the original WAV files are accessible for users without Kontakt.

Dream Audio has released a free taster pack of their Indie Fingers guitar libraries for Kontakt.

Indie Fingers FREE Taster Pack offers a hint of the tones in the Indie Fingers series and includes a very limited selection of instruments for free.  The taster pack includes five demo patches from Indie Fingers 1 to 5. The sounds included in the taster pack can be freely used for creating both personal and commercial musical works.

As this is only a taster pack, there are some limitations:

• Only one mixed patch from each library
• Limited octave for the sounds
• Just a fraction of the samples included

In full, the pack contains the sounds of acoustic, electric and nylon-stringed guitars. The provided sounds are 100% royalty free and can be used in personal and commercial works. To run the samples, you will need Native Instrument’s Kontakt 4.2.4 or higher.
